An Extraordinary Visit

The Riverside Bed and Breakfast was honored to host Neal Moore, Canoeist, Journalist, Author, for an overnight stay on his extensive travel across the US via canoe.  Neal has been on his journey for 18 months.  In another four months he will arrive at the Statue of Liberty on his 50th birthday!  Neal is traveling via canoe or if necessary by portage through 22 rivers, navigating through some challenging conditions.  He sometimes sleeps on the riverbank, and sometimes in a hotel.  People have been assisting him along the way in numerous ways.  We provided a room for him at no cost, and lent him our Jeep, so he could get whatever he needed in his short time in Beaver County. He met  with our mayor, Tim Reddinger, interviewed with Scott Tady from the Beaver County Times, and met Brenda Applegate from the Beaver County Historical Research and Landmarks Foundation.  Neal's tales of his adventures are amazing.  He will be writing a book about his most recent travels in 2023.
